BZFLAG Server

Ken reported to me today that the BZFlag server is up and running at bzflag.byu.edu:5155. Special thanks go out to Brian (aka Brain) and Ken for spending two days installing Gentoo on Richie's old laptop so that we can use it as a server. Unfortunately for Ken, no one took over translating the COBOL programs into C during the last two days, so he has to go back to that laborious torture.

Sources say that the Scorched Earth 3D server will be up soon. Check back for more details.

Actually, bzflag.byu.edu ( previously ruby.byu.edu ) has windows running on it.

And thanks to Brian on putting gentoo on Richie's former laptop. It's been named cletus.byu.edu. I was wondering where Brian got the name "cletus" from. After some research, I discovered that it stands for " Clearly Lacking Educational Testing, Utility, or Sense ". ( source: www.acronymfinder.com )

The problem with bzflag is that it's about as good as it's worth.
